A lattice cover is rafters and slats with gaps between them. It cuts the glare and takes the edge off the heat without closing the patio in, so a morning coffee spot or an evening table stays open to the sky.
Slat spacing sets how much shade you get; we set it at the estimate for how you use the space. Because the roof is open, a lattice cover does not hold heat under it and it lets rain through, which is why it pairs so well with a solid section over the table.

Two choices shape how the cover looks from the yard: the baked-on color, and the profile cut into the end of every rafter. The finish sheds dirt, dust and stains and stands up to sun, salt and pollution, so the cover stays the color you chose.

Questions about lattice patio covers.
It depends on the slat spacing and the time of day. Tighter spacing gives more shade; at midday the sun comes straight down through the gaps, so a lattice patio is at its best in the morning and from late afternoon on.
Yes. Lattice is an open roof. If you want a dry patio, choose solid or a combo with a solid section.
Yes. Power screens from several makers mount to the cover's beams and drop to block glare, wind and bugs, which is handy around a pool or an outdoor TV. They can go in with the cover or later.
Yes. LED lights, recessed or string style, wire into the rafters, and a ceiling fan mounts to a solid or insulated roof or to a fan beam on a lattice. Say so at the estimate and the wiring is run during the build, by a licensed electrician, to code.
Yes, with the clearances the heater's maker specifies. Alumawood is Class A fire rated. A gas or electric heater stretches the season into fall and early spring.
The cover itself is fixed, but the screens, shades, lights, fans and heaters you add to it can be tied to sun, wind and rain sensors or a smart-home hub. A screen can drop on its own when the wind gets up, and the lights can come on from your phone.
Yes. We prepare the drawings and paperwork your association asks for and submit them for you. Most Bakersfield tract associations want a site plan, the color, and the manufacturer's spec sheet, all of which we supply.
